Biokovo

… is an area of special forest vegetation consisting of Dalmatian black pine and beech and fir grains, each type of vegetation in its mountainous area. Part of the park is the Kotišina Botanical Garden, founded by Dr. Fr. Jure Radić for the purpose of scientific research and observation, and the protection and conservation of the plant life of the mountain. It is located above the village of Kotišina, at an altitude of 350 to 500 meters.

The garden area extends over 16.5 ha and is not a botanical garden in the classical sense. Plants are not introduced according to a certain rule, but as a fenced part of nature where the native fauna will be kept. Some 300 wild plants, mostly Mediterranean and mountain, are within the garden. The perennials of the Adriatic are the iris and Neapolitan cyclamen.

St. Jure

From its height of 1762 meters, is the highest peak of Biokovo and the third highest mountain peak of Croatia, behind the peak Sinjal on Dinara (1831 m) and the peak Kamesnica on the mountain Kamesnica (1809 m).
